Is it just us, or is it getting cold in here?

With the first day of winter right around the corner, saving energy around your home is getting more important by the day.

AES Indiana has outlined some easy ways to keep your bill as low as possible all season long. Here’s how:

  1. Schedule an in-home energy assessment to discover upgrades that can help reduce costs.
  2. Upgrade to a new, efficient heating system and save $150 (or more) annually. Plus, take advantage of rebates.
  3. Have your fireplace chimney cleaned and inspected regularly.
  4. Air seal your home and add insulation to save up to $200 a year on heating and cooling.
  5. Set your thermostat to 70° or lower and lower the temperature when asleep or away.
  6. Set ceiling fans to turn clockwise and run them on low to circulate warm air.
