City Editor Shea visited Nine Lives with her dad, who would have taken a cat home if he didn’t live in California.

City Editor Shea here. My family moved recently and we’re considering getting an outdoor cat, which seems like a good excuse to rescue like four more cats... right?

If the thought of combining your morning coffee run with a cat adoption sounds good to you, check out these local cat cafes. Each of them partners with local rescues + shelters, so you can rest assured that you’re helping cats in need.

Pro tip: Book reservations in advance to avoid cat-astrophe if the cafes are full.

Nine Lives Cat Café | From seasonal lattes to 4 Birds Bakery pastries, the menu here is almost as sweet as the resident cats. Keep in mind that kids are only allowed in the lounge between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., when the cats are most receptive to high energy encounters.

Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe | Hamilton County’s first cat cafe has an extensive drink menu and varying treats from local bakers, including Generations Pie Company and Pat-A-Cakes and Cookies Too.

Pawz Pet Cafe | Boba lovers will fall head over paws for this lounge, where the drink combos are endless. It also offers memberships, so you can visit the cats as often as you like for a set monthly price.
