Pickup game at 3 p.m., boarding at 5 p.m. Just kidding.

In case you missed it on social media or haven’t been to the Indianapolis International Airport recently, there’s a 50-ft-wide by 94-ft-long professional basketball court inside the airport.

The basketball court and other basketball-themed installations at IND are here to welcome basketball fans who will be in town for the NBA All-Star Game + build up the energy leading up to the big weekend (Feb. 16-18).

There are All-Star logos and graphics placed throughout the airport, plus a 6-ft tall ceramic basketball hand painted by local muralist Koda Witsken which will be placed at Baggage Claim + a vibrant mural by local artist Shaunt’e Lewis in Concourse B.

There’s more in store at the airport, with live music from local musicians, custom artwork in the airport’s KIND Gallery from local artists, and pop-up shops for fans to grab merch and wear the All-Star logo with pride.

“Soon All-Star will convene in the greatest hosting city and the greatest basketball state in the nation,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority in a release. “It wasn’t just our love for the game that landed All-star here; it was our collaborative community mindset and long resume of hosting hundreds of national and international sporting events.”

Just to reiterate, the basketball court at the airport is a visual and is not meant to play basketball on, so don’t bring your balls to the airport.
