Table of Contents

“Indiana will be home to one of the largest craft whiskey distilleries in the nation.”

Beginning Sat., Aug. 20, look no further than Westfield (10 E. 191st St.), where West Fork Whiskey is taking its distilling to another level.

Get to know West Fork

West Fork Whiskey was started back in 2014 by two brothers + a best friend at Park 100 in a warehouse park on the northwest side. The team maxed out credit cards and was working nights and weekends, while still working regular day jobs. Since then West Fork Whiskey has grown substantiallygetting large-scale recognition + being named the best micro-whiskey in the country at an international whiskey competition two years ago.

West Fork has a tasting room downtown at 1660 Bellefontaine St. where you can try bottles, flights, and craft cocktails. There are even mocktail options.

What’s new

The co-founders call this new 30,000-sqft Westfield Distillery headquarters “just Phase 1” of what they plan to do in Westfield. It includes:

  • Distilling operations that will produce 5,000+ barrels (53-gallons per barrel) each year
  • 5,000 sqft of event space that can host weddings, corporate dinners, and fundraisers
  • Family-friendly The Mash House Restaurant — led by Executive Chef Carlos Salazar — focused on using local ingredients to create an elevated Hoosier classic menu
  • Stave Cocktail Lounge featuring a full bar of spirits, beer, and wine with the option of a flight

When the facility is fully operational in early 2023, distillery tours will begin + West Fork will offer whiskey education sessions.

The facility plans to employ ~100 Hoosiers + is still hiring. Browse open positions.

Visitors will be able to start enjoying whiskey tastings at its opening on Sat., Aug. 20.
