Treat yourself to an Indy-inspired Girl Scout cookie

The Hoosier State has plenty of signature dishes; what if we added custom Girl Scout cookies to the fray?

Wake up and smell the flour (and sugar). Girl Scout Cookie season is upon us — and our local council, the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, are slinging sweet treats around town.

One question: After the Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs are all gone, what will we eat? In that disastrous scenario, we’d love to see these Indy-inspired cookie ideas come to life:

  • When people think of Indiana, they think of corn — and if Crumbl has taught us anything, it’s that corn belongs in cookies. We’d love to see the Scouts create a sweet corn sandwich cookie with a honey butter filling.
  • Next, we’d adapt sugar cream pie (Indiana’s unofficial pie) into a delicious cookie confection. Think buttery, flaky shortbread with a sugary custard glaze.
  • Our final invention is the most adventurous of all: A pork tenderloin cookie. Fear not, it won’t actually feature meat; instead, we think two soft, vanilla-flavored buns with an oversized, brown sugar-coated, sweet corn patty in the middle would be the perfect substitute.
