What’s your Indy 2024 New Year’s resolution?

Are you planning to eat your way through a restaurant’s entire menu? Or spend more time exploring local trails? What about volunteering? We want to know what your resolutions are.

New Year, new you — sort of. Making resolutions can feel pretty intimidating, so we like start small. And why not localize our goals while we’re at it?

Here’s what City Editors Shea and Nicole are planning to take on around Indy in 2024:

Shea: “I’m planning on volunteering with Cats Haven this year. I love that the group is able to provide a cage-free home for cats, especially elderly ones who aren’t likely to be adopted. And then to treat myself, I’m going to try every single seasonal cake offering that The Cake Bake Shop cooks up this year — pray for me.”

Nicole: “In 2023, I volunteered at Gleaners Food Bank for the first time, so I want to do more volunteering like that this year. I’m going to start the year off with the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service. I’m already registered to help pack meals on Thursday, Feb. 15. I’d say I’m already pretty good at supporting local whenever I can, but I want to make it a goal to drink only local coffee all year — no Starbucks or other chains.”

So what are the things you want to do this year in Indy? Share your goals with us (don’t worry, it’s anonymous) and we may drop them in an upcoming newsletter.

Here’s what you said:

“1. Save enough for a high yield savings account. 2. Pay off wife’s student loans.”

“Declutter.”

“Run three 5ks, read more books (including nonfiction), volunteer 24 hours this year, write 24 positive reviews.”

“Continue to work on myself mentally + physically.”

“To go on at least one road trip or flying trip at a moment’s notice.”

“Exercise.”

“Clear out house of unnecessary/accumulated things and donate. Organize remaining things. Simplify our lives.”
