Here’s a scary thought: If you’re saving all your fun for the weekends, you’re only enjoying ~29% of the week.

Luckily, weeknights in Indy are anything but boring. Here are a handful of recurring weekly events to keep you laughing, dancing, and playing all week long.

Monday

Play — Casual Magic Commander, Elf ‘N Moon | Whether you’re rocking a mono black or tricolor deck, bring your best commander and take on other Magic: The Gathering players.

Play — Hambone’s Trivia, Jockamo’s Pizza Greenwood | Pair tough questions with soft crusts.

Tuesday

Play — Trivia with the Quizzler, MashCraft | Try your hand at a prize-filled competition from “the arch-villain of Indianapolis trivia.” Pro tip: You can also find him at Mass Avenue Pub on Wednesday nights.

Laugh — Comedy Open Mic, Helium Comedy Club | Try out your three-minute set, or relax and enjoy jokes from other comedians. Pro tip: Sign-ups typically open on Thursday the week before the event, and the club gets more than 100 submissions every week, so don’t be discouraged if you aren’t chosen right away.

Move — Two Step Tuesday, Duke’s Honky Tonk | Get your boot-scootin’ boogie on with free entry + line dancing lessons, plus discounted drinks.

Play — Family Game Night, IPL Central Library | Challenge your family in giant Jenga, board games, and chess.

Listen — Ollywood Karaoke, Downtown Ollys | Take the stage and belt your heart out — and make sure to reward yourself afterward with a peanut butter burger.

Laugh — Comedy Open Mic, Fountain Square Brew Co. | Not a joke: During this weekly event, pints are $5. The brewery also hosts open stage for musicians on Tuesdays from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Thursday

Move — Latin Dance Party, The Jazz Kitchen | Get free salsa or bachata lessons, feast on Latin American cuisine, and dance to the sounds of Latin America and the Caribbean all night long.

Listen — Poetry Open Mic, Irving Theater | Poets are invited to share their original pieces on the historic stage (or outdoors on the deck in nice weather). The theater also hosts an open mic night for original acoustic music every Monday from 7 to 10 p.m.

Move — Stomping Grounds, McGowan Hall | Swing by this weekly social to join dancers of all levels in practicing your Lindy Hop, Charleston, and other vintage swing moves.

Friday

Watch — Mind Tripping Show, Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites | As the longest-running live theater show in Indianapolis, this comedy mindreading show provides clean fun (and mysteries) for the whole family.

Watch — Drag Race Watch Parties, Gregs Our Place | Gather with friends, family, and the community for a live viewing of new “RuPaul’s Drag Race” episodes every Friday night.
