Pole parties are a great way to create memories (and bruises) with your squad.

Brace your wallets and get the tissues ready, people: Wedding season is nearly upon us. That also means you might find yourself roped into planning a bachelor or bachelorette party. If you’re hoping to stay in town and do something a little unique, here are a few ideas that make us want to say I do.

Nexxus Movement | 1315 Shelby St., Ste. 5
Brush up on your dance moves ahead of the big night with a pole, chair dance, twerk, or burlesque party at this fun, supportive studio. Customizable options include sashes, party themes, and a professional photographer. Just make sure you save the alcohol for after — for safety reasons, intoxicated guests won’t be allowed to participate.

The Pickled Pedaler | 602 Virginia Ave.
Traffic considerations aside, party bikes are a fun, cost-efficient way to enjoy some fresh air and libations with your friends. The Pickled Pedaler seats 14 passengers and is Indy’s only party bike with a state-of-the-art electric assist so you never run out of steam. BYOB in aluminum cans or plastic containers, bring some ice, and let the good times (slowly) roll.

INDYtoday: INDY_Penn and Beech candles shop_MAR24

You can rent out Penn and Beech’s entire shop or just book a table for your smaller group of friends.

Penn & Beech Candle Co. | Multiple locations
Looking for something a little more zen? Take your party to Penn & Beech, where each person can craft their own uniquely scented candle. You can rent out a private space or the entire shop; either option allows you to bring in all the decorations and food your heart desires. Don’t worry, drinks are still on the menu — you can order beer, wine, mimosas, and NA options directly from the shop’s staff.

Indy Acres Paintball | 7225 E. Raymond St.
This outdoor paintball arena is as exciting as they come, with a variety of obstacles and terrains for you to run, climb, and hide on. Groups of 10 or more can book the entire field for a private party, or smaller groups can simply join other players for a regular open session. You’re welcome to dress in costume and bring food for your party to enjoy, but alcohol isn’t allowed.
