How would Santa’s reindeer spend Christmas in Indy?

Here’s how we think Santa’s stalwart friends would spend a well-deserved night off in the Circle City.

Santa Claus is coming to town, and so are his furry antlered friends. But how would they spend their time in Indy?

Before we get started, here’s a fun fact: Science suggests Santa’s reindeer are female, as males do not have their antlers at Christmas time. So let’s plan an itinerary for the girls while the big man does his whole chimney-climbing thing.

🏃 Dasher

Dasher probably misses her North Pole running club. Lucky for her, we’ve got several groups she can join for a frosty jog. Now dash away all.

💃 Dancer + Prancer

You just know this pair would hit the town. A nighttime stroll down Mass Ave would give these dancing queens their share of options, like Metro and Tini. And if they feel like an earlier evening, there’s always our live music venues where they can boogie away.

💅 Vixen

Vixen is all about self-care so she can feel her flirty best. Catch her getting her nails... err, hooves painted and her long eyelashes curled at a local salon.

☄️ Comet

We think Comet loves looking for her namesake in the night sky. Once the sun sets, she’s heading to one of these local stargazing hotspots to observe the moon + constellations.

💖 Cupid

Cupid would have no shortage of romantic choices in Indy — trust us. She might spend the evening watching the sun set over the city in Highland Park, with dinner from Mama Carolla’s in tow. Can reindeer swoon?

🔥 Donner

Donner gets her name from the German word for thunder — and according to the other reindeer, she’s a bit of a hothead. Perhaps she’d enjoy taking some deep, calming breaths in a local sauna that’s just as fiery as she is.

⚡️ Blitzen

Donner’s BFF is named after lightning, and she’s got a need for speed. She’d love checking out some of the fastest cars on the planet at the IMS Museummaybe she’ll even return in May for the Indy 500.

🔴 Rudolph

The leader of the herd is always the one in the know, keeping her friends informed about upcoming events, new restaurants + bars, and all the most important news in the Circle City.

In other words, she would subscribe to the INDYtoday newsletter, and stay plugged into our Instagram, too.
